Is LA Dumb or Smart or WHAT?!
Question for XOJane article: did you grow up with the stereotype that Los Angeles was full of dumb people? As an adult, have you found it to be true/false? Why? (also, how old are ya and what city do ya live in?) Thanks!
grew up in LA (suburbs and hollywood). liked it. still like it (a lot). though… i agree, yeah, have always thought of it to be a bit dumber than new york (where i currently live as a 30 (weird to write) year old), but i honestly don’t know why. i may be wrong. in a lot ways, california is far smarter and more advanced scientifically and environmentally than the rest of the country - socially, too. it’s a nice place to live because of these realities. my family and a lot of my friends, of course, are also pretty cool and smart and wonderful and welcoming.
